Glassy and gemmy, this large, prismatic Fluorapatite crystal has a lovely greenish yellow coloration that was classic for the find but of a quality not seen in decades. Gem Fluorapatite crystals of this size from Cerro de Mercado with this consistency of color and high luster are very rare from this classic locale. The crystal faces are sharp and bright with only minor bruising to some the edges which are mostly lost amidst the quality and size of the crystal. It is incredibly gemmy with some vertically oriented veiled inclusions and fractures that enhance the interior through internal reflections. Classic old material from the 1960s or 1970s that is seldom found in this size with such good color saturation today. This commanding crystal has a mass of 128 grams and comes with a custom engraved acrylic base. It is stunning in person, worthy of a place of display next to fancy and expensive tourmalines, beryls, and other "more glamorous" species, because of the color and the incredible brightness and sparkle of the crystal. Gram for gram, one of the finest examples we know of for sheer quality.
