This is a very distinctive Creede Quartz with the classic "Specularite" coating. The crystal itself is complete all the way around is virtually chalk white on one side, but the other side is associated with little black Sphalerite crystals and an elegant dusting of reddish-brown metallic Hematite (Specularite). You do not see these any more, and they are simply some of the most unique Colorado Quartz specimens to ever come out. This piece came from the Richard A. Kosnar collection and was mined in 1957 by Bob Hartman. Ex. Brian Kosnar Collection.
