Silverton is well-known for its mining history and its minerals, among them Rhodochrosites and Fluorites. This is a fascinating, subtle, combination piece! This light green Fluorite octahedron is gemmy with a frosted surface. It is quite attractive in and of itself. Then, in the best tradition of nature loving confusing preferential coatings on one side of a specimen for reasons hard to grasp, exactly one half of the Fluorite is covered by a white, sparkly drusy Quartz. Not to be outdone, the Quartz is then treated to preferential coating itself by clusters of classic, pink, 2-3 mm curved rhombs of Rhodochrosite. The combination is so desirable, and the aesthetics of this toenail are terrific. A superb small miniature/toenail specimen!
