Sharp, almost iridescent teal-blue, bladed crystals of Cornish Chalcophyllite very richly and attractively spread out along the matrix. The trigonal crystals, in this case hexagonal blades, are in vugs and rich seams big and small, with the largest crystals about 5 mm across. The mines of Cornwall are among the most classic localities in all of Europe, and Chalcophyllite is one of the most distinctive and coveted species for collectors. Fine specimens of this material are few and far between these days. Certainly from the late 1800s, this classic, old-time small cabinet specimen is a fine and rich example of the species and locale.
