Chalcostibite is a rare copper, antimony sulfosalt. This fine specimen from a classic French locale features a superb, cave-like vug with highly lustrous, gray metallic blades in a contrasting, iron-stained quartz matrix. The large columnar blade in the vug is 1.5 cm. A massive vein of chalcostibite caps this very showy piece and chalcostibite is shot through both sides. This is very rich ore. Seldom available in this quality from this locale, and it comes from a classic find of the 1980s.
