A Golconda, of which so few are known to exist, might be the highlight of a pre-1970 mineral collection tourmaline suite. As highlighted in the Mineralogical Record, Sept.-Oct. 2019, green cores and pink terminations in superb, elbaite crystals were discovered in one pocket in the Golconda Mine in 1967. This specimen consists of one bicolored pink and green elbaite, to 2.8 cm in length, with a sidecar attached. It is more than "just a single" because it is a cluster, and probably from the single most famous historic pocket of old mining in Brazil, to mineral collectors at the time. This is a true rarity, and a perfect thumbnail specimen as well.
