An ancient specimen of connellite, formerly called Tallingite for a brief time in the mid-1800s (named after mineral dealer and collector Richard Talling of Lostwithiel, Cornwall, who first collected the mineral). The label and naming would seem to date this piece to near the time of 1850 when connellite was first officially described, but before that information was widely promulgated and name accepted, one would assume. The piece hosts a thin "smear" of microcrystallized connellite, over one display face.
