This is an exquisite garnet specimen, out of the garnet collection of Bill Larson. There are two big wine-red garnets here, about 1.5 cm across, with sharp faces and superb form. But what makes the specimen special is the association with these snow-white, euhedral crystals of albite, on a matrix of dove-gray muscovite crystals! It is of course much more common to see the spessartines on a chunky matrix of albite, and not with this pretty matrix setting.
