This is a miniature-sized, impressive example of this classic old-style combination which turns admittedly "gray" and dull polybasite into something very beautiful, by the drusy coating of chalcopyrite. So far as I know, this combination only occurs here at this locale in any quality. Or did, some time ago. The crystals here are extremely, unusually, robust. This piece has brilliant luster and is nearly, though not quite, complete all around (there are just a few very minor rubs or dings on it, minimal in context). It is from the secret personal collection of longtime Mexican dealers Dalton and Consie Prince (now deceased), which Dave Stoudt got the chance to high-grade in the early 2000's. Seldom available in this quality, on the market. Joe Budd photos.
