This is a very old style of Himalaya mine tourmaline, from the early days of "rediscovery" in the 1950's, when the legendary local collector Ralph Potter was mining. It is a colorful piece with an exquisite, glassy termination featuring the rare well-developed triangular face atop. It is pristine and complete all around save for one tiny ding on the back of the term'. From the personal collection of author and former curator Fred Pough. It was long in Pough's personal collection and, because of the known age we can say with certainty that it was mined pre-Larson and thus dates to the Ralph Potter mining days of the 1950's. The stone is cut from rough of a similar era. 5.9 x 2.5 x 2.1 cm
