A very aesthetic and colorful specimen of azurite "suns" from recent Australian finds. The flattened rosettes, with beautiful color and good luster, look great against the kaolinite siltstone matrix. The azurite suns form between layers of kaolinite. The aggregate was forced to grow in a laterally compressed, radiating manner. Not another azurite locality in the world produces them quite like this. An excellent matrix piece. Ex. Tarnowski Collection.
