In the late 1990s, Gene Meieran and Wayne Thompson financed mining of a small pit later known as the "Chia Mine" which produced only a handful of tourmalines for the work. But, they are very characteristic and unique, with stunning deep color and interesting vertical striations you can see so clearly in the photos, that are more prominent in Chia pieces than in tourmalines from many other Brazilian locales. The color is an intense evergreen-green with subtle alteration to blue at the edges in some crystals, as you can see in the photo. This is a superb, completely transparent crystal that has no damage and is complete all around. It remained in Gene Meieran's collection until recently when I exchanged it from him in a trade. comes with custom base.
