The famous mines at Ajo, Arizona are well-known for producing outstanding azurite specimens. The 3-dimensional rhyolite matrix on this showy and excellent piece is richly covered with lustrous, blocky, navy-blue azurite crystals to 1.8 cm. Scattered malachite provides a very nice accent.
