This very large, rich Bisbee specimen came from the collection of Dave Stoudt; the back of the label shows him to have purchased it from Chuck Youngblood in Bisbee, back in 1988. It features a shallow pocket lined with stunning, shimmering "velvet" malachite - consisting of tiny acicular crystals massed together. This beautiful pocket measures about 7.5 cm in each direction. The matrix is a heavy hematitic (iron-rich) ore, with veins of penny-bright copper running through it.
