This is a choice, attractive combination piece of sharp, glistening Galena cubes sitting on a matrix of Ruby Jack Sphalerite. Galena of such quality in terms of luster and sharpness is very rare for this district. The Galenas are sharp cubes with corners modified by the octahedron, with the two large cubes being 2.8 cm on edge. The metallic luster is excellent, almost mirror-like (and as high as we have ever seem for this mine), and there are several zoned, bluish-purple Fluorites on the Galenas. Much of the matrix is covered by the superbly lustrous Sphalerites, and they range up to 5 mm. Collected by the shift leader and mined in 1989, this small cab is in excellent condition, and the aesthetics are outstanding. Even better in person, we feel. RCL 1815
