This is an old Chafee County, Colorado specimen of a classic combination of clear quartz crystals on a bed of solid epidote. In this case, there are actually two plates of epidote cemented together by crystals that have grown in between them, so quartz crystals are sticking out on both sides of the specimen. Ex. Richard Hauck Collection.
