Alumohydrocalcite, Pyrite

Alumohydrocalcite is an uncommon hydrated calcium aluminum carbonate. This fine old-time specimen features pink, tufted balls of alumohydrocalcite to 2 mm nicely perched on pyrite and other sulfides on quartz-rich matrix. This classic and historic specimen is from a very uncommon locality; Neurode, Silesia, Poland. Accompanied by an old, faded Ward's label that incorrectly identifies this as pharmacolite. The collection this came out of was a museum stash dating to prior to World War I.
