Super rich specimen of chalcopyrite crystals from the classic eastern U.S. location for the species, French Creek, Pennsylvania. Beautifully branching groups of crystallized chalcopyrite rise up to 3.2cm from the matrix. The crystals have the typical gold color with a slight patina and no observed damage. An old specimen, as Vaux was prominent in the late 1800s and early 1900s. This is, old or not, one of the finest examples of this classic US locality I have seen for sale! George Vaux Jr. and Hauck collection labels included with piece. 7.9 x 6.1 x 4.3 cm
