A superb single crystal that is more red than purple, due to minute inclusions of geothite or hematite within the amethyst! In different lights, though, the purple and red contributions to color vary a bit. Complete all around, this is an extremely fine and aesthetic specimen from this most classic of localities for scepterd quartz.
