An EXCELLENT example of RARELY SEEN minerals in combination - native silver with dioptase! The piece consists of oxidized, massive to platy silver dusted with dioptase microcrystals. The partially hidden dioptase-lined vug at the top of the piece is particularly rich and striking. This is old material, from the 1960s or older, from a very RARE locality for silver, but not dioptase - Mindouli, Republic Of The Congo. Ex. Jean Behier and George Elling Collections. Unique in my experience save one other that came with this (this is the better of the two) .
