The various Trap Rock quarries are well known for their superb Prehnite "casts" or epimorphs. The large majority of these casts form as Prehnite after Anhydrite, but some of them form as Prehnite after Glauberite, which is exceptionally difficult to find. Over the last few years, the Fanwood Quarry (Weldon Quarry) has produced some of the most magnificent Prehnite after Glauberite "casts" in the world. This specimen is a good quality piece of this material featuring several light green, lustrous crystallized Prehnite "casts" after rhombic shaped Glauberite on basalt matrix. You would be hard pressed to find finer quality Prehnite after Glauberite from ANY world locality. These pieces do not get the respect they deserve for being arguably the most impressive Prehnite after Glauberites "casts" on the planet. A great display piece of this extremely rare phenomenon in the mineral world.
