Striking, gemmy and lustrous grossular garnets to 2.0 cm aesthetically fill a vug atop a sculptural wedge of matrix. The glassy, brick-red crystals have classic dodecahedral form. This piece is from Bishop, Inyo County, California. Very nearly pristine. A really fine grossular garnet specimen from this uncommon California locale.
