The Isle of Elba, in addition to being famous for Tourmalines and Napoleon's exile, has also produced what are consistently outstanding Pyrite specimens. This cluster has beautiful, striated pyritohedrons up to 2.4 cm, and the metallic luster is excellent. The Pyrites are complemented by lustrous, silvery black Hematite. While not the largest Elba Pyrite I have seen, I really do like the balance and aesthetics of this piece. For the size, it is hard to imagine a better example with such flair and perfection all around.
