This is a fascinating cabinet pseudomorph specimen from a find in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Two interestingly shaped knobs of upright, parallel-growth, poker-chip crystals of calcite have been pseudomorphed by sparkling quartz. This is from the same find that included pseudomorphs of quartz after fluorite. I really like the sculptural aspects of this piece and the variable amounts of iron oxides tinting the pseudomorphs, especially on the edges. Ex. Elling Collection.
