Fine Rhodochrosite thumbnail from the famous N'Chwaning Mine. This piece is dominated by a single, complex scalenohedron (with a sharp sidecar) that has a rich, cherry-red color and excellent luster. As is often the case with soft minerals, there is a small amount of edgewear on the very tip, but it is minor. The aesthetics are quite good, and it is better in person. Formerly in the collection of W.S. Logan. From the heyday and most famous finds here, around 1980.
