Epidote and quartz is a classic association from this old Colorado iron mine. Here, the quartz is dominant, in the form of slender, transparent crystals, to 5 cm. The epidote appears as opaque green crystals on the matrix and flecks on the quartz crystals. Ex. Richard Hauck Collection.
