This HUGE and very pretty atacamite specimen was displayed in the Los Angeles Museum of Natural History, on loan from collector (and Carnation heiress) Marion Stuart. This chunk of matrix was apparently loose in the pocket, allowing it to collect these beautiful, isolated sprays of deep green atacamite on Every side. The matrix is coated with a light tan mineral (unidentified) which provides a wonderful contrasting background for the atacamite. Wow! Comes with the LA County museum label. 18.1 x 14.2 x 7.4 cm
