A SUPERB, SHOWY, two-sided, CABINET specimen of highly lustrous, twinned and striated, black sphalerite crystals to 3.0 cm on a bit of silicified limestone matrix with dolomite rhombs from the famous Joplin area of the Tri-State District. This exceptional, essentially undamaged, old-timer from the Marty Lewadny collection would make a very fine two-piece, Tri-State suite, along with the Mid-Continent Mine galena specimen. These are exceptionally hard to find today in such quality and date to the 1940s-60s. 11.0 x 8.0 x 6.6 cm
