Beautifully iridescent, brassy, sharp and lustrous chalcopyrite crystals to 1.5 cm are aesthetically scattered amongst a forest of quartz needles on the sculptural, vuggy rhyolite matrix that is shaped like a shoe. This fine piece is from the very uncommon Empire Zinc Mine of New Mexico. Undoubtedly old material, but no proof. Ex. Mullane Collection.
