An unusually sculptural specimen amidst so many that are just jumbly clusters, or flat plates, this piece stood out to my eye. It was found in 2007 and has been in the Wally Mann collection since. As is typical of the material, it is repaired (most are) multiple places, but done cleanly this is considered acceptable for such nice combination specimens from the locality. Very few 3-dimensional specimens can be had, without repairs, in any case. The balanced aesthetics of the piece, and how the smoky quartz relates to the amazonites in size and composition, make this stand out - I remember seeing it amongst a table of far more expensive pieces at the time after it was mined, and yet it was the one I LIKED, as it went into a friend's collection (he was faster than I, to the room!).
