An old-time and classic piece from the Tilly Foster Mine of New York of several sharp, lustrous, all gemmy, color-zoned, rust-brown chondrodite crystals to 1.0 cm nicely concentrated on contrasting matrix of albite and massive magnetite ore. The crystals are gemmier, overall, than most specimens we have seen. This is a rich and fine piece from this famous iron mine (magnetite ore), that closed in 1897.
