Dufrenite
Dufrenite is a rare, secondary mineral of calcium, iron phosphate commonly found in iron ore deposits and in vein gossans. A well-placed vug in hematite matrix is lined with lustrous, blue-green dufrenite botryoids. The two broken botryoids reveal the radial growth pattern of the dufrenite. This fine, old-time piece comes from a classic Cornwall locality - the Wheal Phoenix. The piece is accompanied by an expertly handwritten, faded label from an older collection. The collection this came out of was a museum stash dating to prior to World War I. Easily over 100 years old.
