Grossular (Var: Hessonite), Quartz, Axinite-(Fe)
A fine combination specimen of a line of gemmy and lustrous, reddish-orange hessonite garnets capping a vug lined with an earlier generation of gemmy and lustrous, honey-colored garnets. This specimen is complimented by a very glassy, striated, colorless axinite blade sandwiched between the two generations of garnets and a lustrous, 3.2 cm, milky quartz crystal. Ex.
