A beautiful plate aesthetically covered with sharp, translucent, rose-red rhodochrosite rhombs to 1.6 cm on quartz-rich matrix from Butte, Montana. The edges and sides of the rhodo rhombs are slightly gemmier, as you can see. A neat feature. All of the major rhodos are pristine on this very showy and excellent specimen, most likely from the famous Emma Mine. CLASSIC, OLD-TIME material from the John Ydren Collection.
