I was really sorry when this find turned out to be short-lived, because these kyanite crystals are exceptional for two reasons. First, they are GEMMY, where kyanites are usually opaque, boring crystals locked in quartz matrix. And second, they have the most incredible zoning; a distinct blue stripe running right down the middle (the zoning on the specimen is better and sharper than the pic shows). The crystal has the usual rather rough natural termination on top. This is one of the best I have seen of the "blue-stripes." It is rather thick and substantial as well. 4.9 x 1.3 x 0.6 cm
