Lustrous, parallel-growth, metallic foil-like, golden-bronze astrophyllite blades are richly set in quartz-rich pegmatite matrix from a famous Colorado locality - St. Peters Dome. Astrophyllite is a rare titanium silicate and these are fairly large crystals of the species and for the locality. One face is superbly accented with a lustrous, sharp, 8 mm, brown zircon crystal. This is an excellent old example of this rare material - and with a zircon, as a bonus. This is very rare and hard to come by now.
