I had always lusted after this piece, in the Kosnar family collection. To me, this unrepaired, strikingly balanced piece is the finest in size class. This is a classic association specimen from one of the most storied and well known districts in Colorado. The pegmatites near the Lake George area of Colorado have produced what collectors and dealers know to be the finest Amazonite specimens from the standpoint of color, quality, wonderful display specimens and excellent associations. This particular specimen features sharp lustrous, well-formed, rich blue-green color Amazonite crystals with a uniquely porcelainous surface and texture. Ex. Richard Kosnar Collection.
