Agate is very rare from the well-known trap-rock Chimney Rock Quarry of New Jersey, which is more well-known for zeolite species. This is a very fine, translucent, banded agate with pretty shades of yellow and orange. The piece is highlighted by the interesting vug lined with sparkly, yellow, drusy quartz. One side of the piece has been slabbed to highlight the banding. Ex. Pettit Collection.
