Cornetite
Intensely colored and extremely bright, lustrous rosettes, to 7 mm across, totally cover the display side of this cornetite specimen. The color of the rosettes ranges from a blackish blue to a rich teal blue, on the same rosette. This relatively uncommon copper phosphate reaches its zenith at the Star of Congo Mine. These microcrystals are SO SUPER SPARKLY that they are just incredible to see in a case, with halogens on them. Like nothing else. In person, it is much more evident. This specimen has excellent aesthetics and remarkably no damage. It is from the 1998 pocket of this "best of" material, brought out at the time by my friend, the Belgian dealer Gilbert Gauthier, now deceased. You may have seen material from recent finds here. No comparison!
