An exceptionally fine and beautiful example of a slice through an amethyst crystal-covered quartz stalactite, in this case two stalactites that have grown together. You can see their "cores" and the radial crystal growth outwards from them, culminating in the purple amethyst crystals that wrapped the double-stalactite as it was found in the vug.
