Rare and quite robust, this large, old-time Ilmenite crystal pair is from the well-known Kragero locality in Norway. The largest of the two Ilmenites is 4.7 cm, and they both have a good, metallic luster and a deep, reddish-black color. The well-formed faces are sharp, and the larger crystal is three-quarters complete all the way around. Nestled between the adjoining Ilmenites is a slender, 2.4 cm Scapolite crystal. A combination like this, especially being well crystallized, is highly uncommon for the locality. ex Scott Williams, in 1959.
