A superb, incredibly gemmy crystal of flawless character internally and the most choice color and luster one could ask for in a classic Ukrainian Heliodor. This piece is a complete floater, perfect all around with no damage. It is illustrated in the book Mineral Treasures - of the Houston Museum collection. It was deaccessioned in a trade to a larger piece now in the museum, though this was of finer quality in my opinion. The piece is flawless, and has super color, gemminess, and luster. It is FAR FAR better in person, than it appears, only because it is SO gemmy that it is difficult to convey in photos. This is a major specimen regarded in the community as one of the finest examples of its size class, for this classic gem species from the pre-eminent mine for modern heliodors. It was found in the late 1980s or early 1990s. Joe Budd Photos.
