What a splendid Sphalerite piece from the zinc mines in Elmwood, Tennessee. The quality is superb - there are many gemmy, complex, red-brown Sphalerite crystals to 2.2cm across as single crystals or clusters of two or three crystals (twinned?!) that are nicely isolated on a drusy Quartz matrix for incredible effect! The deep red-brown internal reflections of the gem Sphalerite crystals are mesmerizing! Great composition! Ex. Douglas and Diane Ervin collection with label. From the heyday here in the 1980s.
