This specimen features superb secondary overgrowths of lustrous and translucent, purple fluorite crystals, to 2.5 cm across, over an earlier, larger, straw colored fluorite crystal. Minor brassy yellow chalcopyrite to 1 mm across is also present. Collected by pillar robbing on the Joyner tract. RCL 1479. In person, it is really 3-dimensional and has subtle color and zoning complexities that add interest, though the camera has trouble seeing all of this complexity at once. It is light in color, but strong on form and one of the most geometrically interesting examples of this classic style for this mine, that we have seen.
