Legrandite is one of those old rare species that has a cache of its own because of the shocking color some possess. This one has that color! It is highly unusual, in that it is not a cluster as are nearly all of them, but rather is a single, acicular, lustrous, translucent/gemmy crystal. And it really does have the most vivid lemon yellow color. Stunning! This was in the collection of Robert Randall, and was in his show-winning cases at the 1985 MWF show, and the 1985 RMFMS Denver show. He purchased it in 1978 from Chris Wright, who told him that it was from the same pocket (and perhaps a trim off of) as the Aztec Sun specimen. It certainly looks like it could be, in any case.
