Here we have a great combination specimen of Arfvedsonite and Microcline from classic old locality at Hurricane Mountain in New Hampshire, from the Robert Whitmore collection. A good sized pristine, lustrous, prismatic, black Arfvedsonite crystal dominates this piece and it's aesthetically set on a nest of Orthoclase crystals and a few admixed smaller Arfvedsonite crystals. The dominant crystal is 3.1 cm tall and the piece is nicely accented by the elongate group of small Orthoclase and Arfvedsonite crystal that also provide great contrast. This is a famous US locality for the species with very little good material like this ever produced from it. Ex. Robert Whitmore collection and self collected by him long ago.
