A complete-all-around specimen showcasing a dramatic brazilianite crystal rising from matrix of sparkling white albite, and a truly gemmy and bright quartz point that is hard to photograph. It is gorgeous on either side, although on the one dominant side to my eye, you see the brazilianite standing over the gemmy quartz crystal (3 cm tall above the quartz); while on the back you see a longer brazilianite (as it is really over 4 cm in height), but not the quartz. Illustrated in the book Mineral Collections of Brazil (published in Brazil), as shown. this is the most important book on Brazilian minerals we have seen, and was widely supported by a huge array of public and private interests and then published with government support there. This is from the multigenerational family collection of Rolando and then of Bruno Gioia, a well-known family of mineral collectors based in Sao Paolo.
