This fine and lustrous quartz crystal is very richly included by astrophyllite inclusions, and has a really dramatic look to it in person. This is a style seldom seen from the Swiss Alps, and is thought to be a very old specimen. It originally was part of the quartz collection of longtime dealer and collector Richard Hauck of New Jersey (he obtained it in a very old collection himself, probably in the 1960s or 1970s). He sold it to me, and I to Brent, in 2010. We have not seen another comparably included with such rich needles. Minor adularia feldspar is also in association at the base.
