Gemmy and lustrous, golden-yellow legrandite crystals to 7 mm are attractively scattered on both the front and back of the vuggy gossan matrix on this excellent and showy specimen from FLOR DE LA PENA MINE...not from the more famous Mina Ojuela. Legrandite, purple adamite and scorodite are Holy Grail species from this famous locality and for Mexico. This is a fine specimen for the species and locality and is highly representative of material from this TYPE LOCALITY, found 50 years prior to its discovery in a lower level of Mapimi, later on! The combination of crystal form and matrix is distinct. Ex. George Elling Collection.
