A rich specimen of the rare manganese phosphate purpurite, showing the typical intense violet color. Unlike most on the market from South Africa (when you do see them), this is an AMERICAN specimen, from the Pack Rat Mine in California. It is an older piece, out of the Chuck Houser collection.
